- Low injury risk

How to do it
- Sit on a sturdy chair with both feet on the floor.
- Place the ball on the floor in front of one foot.
- Rest the arch of that foot on the ball.
- Roll your foot slowly over the ball between your heel and the base of your toes.
- Lift your foot off the ball to end the interval.
- Return your foot to the floor.
Form cues
- Keep your toes relaxed.
- Keep pressure mild and comfortable.
Common mistakes
- Scrubbing back and forthUse smooth, deliberate passes rather than quick strokes.
- Chasing a tender spotMove across a broader area instead of repeatedly digging into one sensitive point.
Safety
Excessive pressure can bruise or irritate tissue beneath your foot, especially if the area is already sore.
- Use a nonslip surface so the ball stays under control.
- Avoid direct pressure on the heel bone, toe joints, or swollen or broken skin.
- Stop if you feel sharp pain, tingling, or numbness.
Ask a physiotherapist or doctor before trying this if you have reduced foot sensation, poor circulation, or a recent foot injury.
