How to do it

  1. Sit in the well with your back toward the raised curve, knees bent, and feet on the floor.
  2. Recline onto the curve with your pelvis remaining in the well.
  3. Lift your bent knees over your hips.
  4. Extend your legs toward the ceiling on a diagonal.
  5. Reach your arms forward toward your feet.
  6. Curl your head, shoulders, and torso forward into a V-shaped balance on your pelvis.
  7. Lower your torso back onto the curve with control to complete the repetition.
  8. Place your feet on the floor with bent knees after your final repetition.

Form cues

  • Exhale as you rise.
  • Keep your shoulders away from your ears.
  • Keep both sides of your waist long.

Common mistakes

  • Swinging into the balanceUse a smaller roll-up range that lets you lift without throwing your arms or legs.
  • Dropping the legs too lowKeep your legs higher or bend your knees if your lower back arches away from support.
  • Collapsing at the topReach your chest toward your thighs rather than sinking into your lower back.

Safety

Losing control can make you slide off the curved support. Reclining beyond your available range, especially when fatigued, can strain your lower back or neck.

  • Place the spine corrector on a nonslip surface with clear space around it.
  • Practice the entry and exit with bent knees before attempting straight-leg repetitions.
  • Limit the recline to a range where your torso stays supported without your head dropping backward.
  • End the set if your pelvis starts sliding or you cannot control the descent.

Choose a bent-knee preparation or seek advice from a physiotherapist first if you have back or neck pain, or difficulty balancing on the apparatus.
